The parking brake device for an industrial vehicle including a brake pad 12b serving as a holding means for holding a braking state of the parking brake 12 when the vehicle is stopped, and a braking valve 13 serving as a brake releasing means for releasing the braking state of the parking brake 12 by operation of the accelerator pedal 18, is provided with an accelerator sensor 21 for detecting the operation of the accelerator pedal 18, and a neutral detecting switch 26 for detecting a neutral position of a shift lever 24. The parking brake device is also provided with a control device 27 serving as a controlling means for outputting a braking state releasing signal of the parking brake 12 by inputs of an accelerator operation detecting signal and a neutral position detecting signal.
