Abstract:

To secure functions of a parking brake after a failure of a control device to allow recalibration of the parking brake to an opened starting position, the recalibration being performed automatically or introduced by a driver.

A method for recalibrating an electric operating parking brake operated by an operation element (6) includes: detecting a parking brake request performed in the operation element by the control device (1) to lock or unlock the parking brake, and controlling an actuator (4) of the parking brake in response thereto. After the operation of the operation element, a memory entry indicating a transfer state of the parking brake is formed, and when it is detected that the memory entry is set after a temporal failure of the control device, the parking brake is brought to a regulated opened starting position automatically or after the operation element is operated again.
