PURPOSE: To permit the sifter arm side to be certainly locked at a parking position by utilizing an interlocking plate, in the parking lock mechanism of the change lever used for a car equipped with the clutch which is released when an engine stops.

CONSTITUTION: When a car is parked after an engine stops, a control shaft 40 is selected, and a shifter arm 51 is moved leftward by the locking part 43a of a select lever 43, and a shifter rail 46 is moved leftward to allow a cam 62 and a parking bowl 65 to be engaged with each other, and the hook 65a of the bowl 65 is engaged with a parking gear 37 to lock the output shaft of a speed change gear. As one clutch part 51b in the recess 51a on the shifter arm 51 in the shift state is brought close to the notched part 60 on the tongue piece 54a of an interlock plate 54 and brought coincident with it, if a change lever is kept a part from hand after shift to a parking position, the clutch part 51b is engaged with the notched part 60, and the transmission operating system extending from the control shaft 40 to a parking lock device 61 can be maintained in the parking lock state.
