To provide a parking support method and a parking supporting device for generating a high-quality peripheral image without being affected by a change in ambient light even if image data photographed in different ambient light exist mixedly.

The image data G are acquired from a camera 26 provided in a vehicle to generate extraction data from the image data G. The extraction data are subjected to visual point transformation to generate transformation data, and imaging position data and orientation data are attached to the transformation data for storing in an image memory 14. A control section 4 controls an image processing section 15, generates a bird's-eye image data by respective transformation data and current image data, and displays the bird's eye image on a display 3. Even if the image data G, where the light of a brake lamp is reflected, exists mixedly, the image processing section 15 performs luminance correction for removing the reflected light of the brake lamp, and generates bird's-eye image data, where the light of the brake lamp is not reflected.
