To provide a retention supporting system for moving and retaining a mobile body to and at a retention position, which can prevent the mobile body from advancing to be retained at a position where a user may unexpectedly find it difficult to board/alight.SOLUTION: A retention supporting system 1, 201, 301 for moving and retaining a mobile body S to and at a retention position comprises: an outside recognition unit 41 that recognizes an outside of the mobile body; and a mobile body control unit 43 that executes a driving process for advancing the mobile body to the retention position on the basis of the recognition result of the outside recognition unit. The mobile body control unit interrupts the driving process when it is determined that there is an object within the range of a prescribed threshold value W outside the side surface of the mobile body and the objects extends by a prescribed longitudinal threshold value D or more within the range in the advancing direction on the basis of the recognition result during advancing of the mobile body to the retention position.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7
