Title:
PARTIALLY HOT-TIN-PLATED STRIP AND METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR ITS MANUFACTURE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3954129
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To arrange so as to be combinable the backside characteristics of respective metals by providing interruptions in the longitudinal direction of the metal strip applied onto the belt to coat.
SOLUTION: Metal coating strips 2, 3, 4 are plated on the belt 1. Each of the interruptions A1, A2, A3... are a spacing in the range of 1 to 20 mm. The strips 2, 3, 4, 5 are interrupted at an irregular intervals. (A1, A2, A3... are different from each other). Two strips 2, 3, 4, 5 have different layer thickness D1, D2. The strips 2, 3, 4, 5 are of different metals comprising pure tin, tin alloy, and zinc. The belt 1 is made of either one of copper, copper alloy, iron or iron alloy. For example, when the layer-thickness of tin-plating layers are variable, the thicker layer has an excellent soldering property, while the thinner layer has a smaller insertion so that the merits of each of them can be combined.
