Abstract:

To provide a yarn and processes such as: a stable partially oriented poly(trimethylene terephthalate) yarn; a continuous draw-texturing process for false-twist texturing of a partially oriented yarn; and an economic process for false-twist texturing of a partially oriented poly(trimethylene terephthalate) yarn.

There is provided a partially oriented yarn made of a polyester polymer. The polyester polymer includes at least 85 mol% of poly(trimethylene terephthalate) composed of repeating units at least 85 mol% of which are trimethylene units. The polyester polymer has at least 0.70 dl/g of intrinsic viscosity. The partially oriented yarn has at least 110% of breaking elongation. There are also provided a spinning process of a partially oriented yarn and a continuous draw-texturing process of a partially oriented feed yarn.
