Abstract:

To provide a partially stabilized sintered zirconia compact by which thermal impact resistance can be enhanced.

The ZrO2-MgO-based sintered zirconia compact has the crystalline phase of ZrO2 composed of monoclinic zirconia, tetragonal zirconia and cubic zirconia, and (a) contains the monoclinic zirconia at 65 to 85 vol%, (b) is specified in the molar ratio of MgO/ZrO2 to 7/93 to 9/91, (c) contains SiO2 at 0.05 to 0.5wt.%, (d) contains 0.5 to 1.5 wt.% Al2O3, and (e) is specified in thermal expansion from room temperature to 1,400°C to ≤0.45%.
