Title:
PARTICLE FILTER HAVING CATALYTICALLY ACTIVE COATING FOR ACCELERATING INCINERATION OF DEPOSITED SOOT PARTICLE IN STAGE OF REGENERATION
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2004036609
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To accelerate burning of a soot particle while reducing discharge of CO during regeneration of a particle filter for removing the soot from an exhaust gas of a diesel engine.

The catalytic coating containing a compound of barium, a compound of magnesium and at least one element of platinum group is applied onto a filter body of the particle filter. Thereby, a firing point of the soot collected on the filter is reduced, burning of the soot is accelerated and an energy required for regeneration of the soot filter and danger for inhibiting the regeneration are reduced.
