Abstract:

To provide a particle production method which can be desirably used for the production of e.g., small liquid drops or gel particles used in e.g., a packing for a collection or separation column, which method permits the formation of particles in a microchannel and the formation of particles in various combination of a disperse phase and a continuous phase, and can cope with industrial mass production and to provide a microchannel structure therefor.

The particle production method comprises continuously introducing a disperse phase and at least two continuous phases into a structure having a microchannel and meanwhile bringing the disperse phase and the continuous phases into contact with each other under shear to form small particles. The microchannel structure therefor is also provided.
