Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a parts assembly structure that is compact in shape and is efficient in assembly work.
SOLUTION: A case 1 houses a measuring instrument 2, an odometer and a trip meter for indicating vehicle travel distances, an operating shaft 12 for resetting the distance indication of the trip meter, and the like. The front opening of the case 1 has a facing plate 7 for covering the gap between the measuring instrument 2 and another and between the measuring instrument 2 and the case 1, and a transparent plate 8. A circuit board 9 carries a bulb 10 for illuminating the measuring instrument 2, a tact switch 11 and the like. The operating shaft 12 has a substantially cylindrical operating portion 14, a pressure portion 15 for pushing the tack switch 11, a bottomed and substantially cylindrical boss portion 16 encircling the operating portion 14 in the middle of the operating shaft 12, and the like. The boss portion 16 has at the tip a sectional face 27 that is unlevel or is gently V-shaped with high and low points connected by curves. The rear surface of the facing plate 7 has a substantially cylindrical inserting portion 26 formed around a through hole 13 defined therein, and the lower end of the inserting portion 26 is inserted in the boss portion 16 of the operating shaft 12.
