When a passbook 16 is supplied, images at the binding sides of all passbooks 16 stored in a passbook cassette 2 are acquired by a passbook image acquiring part 9, and when an erroneously supplied different type of passbook 16 is detected by an output voltage waveform acquired from the image data by a control part 12, an operator is notified that the erroneously supplied passbook 16 exists by displaying it on an operation display part 16.
