PURPOSE: To enable various kinds of passbooks to be selectively supplied from a hopper in a new passbook supporting part, by providing a means for moving by pushing only one of the passbooks in the new passbook supporting part toward a gate means, and a reading sensor for a passbook kind identification mark recorded on an end part of the passbook.

CONSTITUTION: In response to an instruction for searching an objective kind of passbook, a motor 3 is rotated, and passbooks 6 placed on a pushing plate 2 are vertically moved. Kind marks provided at end parts of the passbooks 6 are detected by a sensor 8, and when the objective passbook is found, the passbook is stopped when it is located in front of gate rollers 9. The gate rollers 9 are rotated in the directions of arrows A, a passbook picker 10 is pushed outward, the passbook fed through the gate rollers 9 is confirmed to be the objective passbook by a sensor 13, and feeding rollers 14 are rotated in the directions of arrow B to feed the passbook into a feeding passage. If a different passbook is let out, it is detected by the sensor 13, and a return lever 18 is driven in the direction of an arrow C by a solenoid 19 while rotating the gate rollers 9 in the directions of the arrows A, whereby the passbook is returned into a main body 1 of a hopper.
