PURPOSE: To certainly turn over the cover of a passbook thicker than each of the inside papers thereof by mounting a feed means for feeding the passbook pressed on the turning-over side thereof by a press means in a direction wherein the binding side of the passbook approaches the press means.

CONSTITUTION: A rubber roller 12 is pressed to the cover (a) of a passbook A on the turning-over side thereof and, after the passbook A is held on the turning-over side thereof by the rubber roller 12 and an auxiliary feed roller 21, drive rollers 5, 7 and the auxiliary feed roller 21 are rotationally driven in a direction wherein the passbook A approaches the rubber roller 12 on the binding side (d) thereof. Whereupon, the passbook A runs on a passbook feed path 4 in the direction shown by an arrow (y) and the cover (a) is separated from inside papers (e) with the running of the passbook A by the rubber roller 12 and curved. When the excitation of the second solenoid 17 is released in this state, the rubber roller 12 is released upwardly through an arm 14 and, therefore, the cover (a) is further turned over upwardly and can be perfectly turned over with the running of the passbook A in the direction shown by the arrow (y).
