The control device controlling a plurality of passenger conveyors 1 provided in a building with a plurality of floors has an operation controller 51 controlling the operation velocities of the plurality of passenger conveyors 1 individually, a user number detector detecting the number of persons on a floor in units of floors, and a congestion determination part 54 determining a congestion situation on each floor based on a detection value of the user number detector. The operation controller 51 accelerates an operation velocity of the passenger conveyor 1 which moves from a congested floor determined by the congestion determination part 54 to another floor or decelerates an operation velocity of the passenger conveyor 1 which moves from another floor to the congested floor.
