Abstract:
To provide a passenger conveyor capable of reliably detecting missing of a footstep to stop its movement.
A control device counts the number of revolutions of an output shaft of a reduction gear by using encoder pulses output from an encoder. An proximity sensor 70 outputs a footstep pulse when a rear wheel 30b of a footstep 30 passes. The footstep pulse output from the proximity sensor 70 is input to the control device. After the footstep 30 is detected by the proximity sensor 70, the number of revolutions based on a motor is counted until the next footstep 30 is detected, and when the counted number of revolutions is a threshold value or greater, it is determined that the footstep 30 is missing and moving of the footstep 30 is stopped.
