Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide, in a passenger conveyor provided with a safety device forming a handrail gate, a protection device having a fingertip clamping or damaging prevention function while eliminating an unnecessary operation stop event caused by contact of a bag with casters or the like with the safety device.SOLUTION: A passenger conveyor 1 includes an endlessly moving step 3, a handrail 4, a skirt guard 5 closing the side part of the step 3, and a safety device 7 or the like projected from a tail end part 5A to form the gate of the handrail 4, and further includes a protection piece 8 erected to cover the side part of the safety device 7 with a fixed gap W from the side part of the handrail 4 on the step 3 side, and a protection device 10 having a shape capable of fixing the protection piece 8 to the tail end part 5A and including a spring fixing piece 9 elastically deformable so as to widen the gap W when a foreign object enters the gap W.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
