Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a passenger conveyor that can suppress malfunction of a safety device caused by instantaneous floating up of a footstep while maintaining operation sensitivity of the safety device due to the floating-up of the footstep.SOLUTION: The passenger conveyor comprises: a detecting portion 5 that is arranged across a predetermined length along a pressing rail 6 and detects a position where a rear wheel 7 floats up to contact the pressing rail 6; and a control portion 3 that determines whether or not the floating-up of the rear wheel 7 is continuing or instantaneously occurs on the basis of a state of the floating-up of the rear wheel 7 detected by the detecting portion 5. When the detecting portion 5 detects the floating-up of the rear wheel 7, the control portion 3 confirms movement amounts of a position where the floating-up is detected; when detecting continuously the floating-up of a certain amount or more, determines that the rear wheel 7 is floated up by some abnormality and then detects abnormality of the floating-up of the footstep; and when instantaneously detecting the floating-up, determines that the floating-up is due to malfunction and therefore does not detect the abnormality of the floating-up of the footstep 3.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
