Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a passenger conveyor comprising a safety device which forms a handrail entrance, which is equipped with a protection device that eliminates an unnecessary operation-stop event caused by contacting of a foreign matter, such as a bag with a caster, with the safety device while having a function for preventing fingers from being caught and a breakage failure.SOLUTION: A passenger conveyor 1, which comprises a step 3 which move endlessly and a handrail 4, a skirt guard 5 which blocks a side part of the step 3, a safety device 7 which protrudes from a terminating part 5A to form an entrance of the handrail 4 and the like, is structured to comprise a protection device 10 which is constituted of: a side part protecting piece 8 which is erected so as to cover the side part of the safety device 7 at a certain interval W from an edge of the handrail 4 and provided at both sides or either side of the inside and outside of the safety device 7; and a hinge body 9 which is structured so as to fix the side part protecting piece 8 to the terminating part 5A, and can be rotatably opened so as to enlarge the interval W if a foreign matter enters the interval W.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
