Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a passenger conveyor which can properly secure safety at the intrusion of water into a machine room in which a brake resistor is arranged.SOLUTION: An escalator 1 comprises: a motor 20 for driving a plurality of step plates 11 which are connected to one another in an endless loop shape; an inverter 30 for supplying AC power for the drive of the motor 20; a brake resistor 71 for consumes AC power which is obtained by rectifying regeneration power generated in the motor 20; and a control device 41 for controlling operations of the motor 20 and the inverter 30. The brake resistor 71 is arranged in a lower machine room R2 which is arranged outdoors in a pit shape. A water intrusion detection sensor 60 for detecting the intrusion of water into the lower machine room R2 is arranged. When the water intrusion of the lower machine room R2 is detected by the water intrusion detection sensor 60, the control device 41 opens a power supply input circuit of the inverter 30.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
