Abstract:
To provide a protection device for a passenger conveyor equipped with safety devices that form handrail entrances and exits for eliminating unnecessary shutdown events when foreign objects such as bags with casters come into contact with this safety device, while also preventing pinching and breakage of the hands.SOLUTION: For a passenger conveyor comprising a step 3 connected endlessly and moving between both entrances and exits, a handrail 4 that moves synchronously with this step 3, a skirt guard 5 to block the side of the step between both entrances and exits, a safety device 7 that protrudes from the terminal end 5A of the skirt guard 5 to the entrance 2, and a side protection piece 8 standing upright so as to cover the inside of this safety device 7, there is provided a passenger conveyor 1 with a protection device 10 wherein the side protection piece 8 is disposed in a state in which the distance from the handrail 4 is larger in the front end part interval m than the rear end part interval n, it can be rotated to the step 3 side when a foreign object comes into contact with its front end Ta, including a hinge 9 having a structure that can fix the side protection piece 8 to the terminal end 5A of the skirt guard 5.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
