PURPOSE: To transport a large amount of personnel efficiently by providing stations where vehicles are stopped in association with vertical movement of the vehicle so as to allow passengers to get in and out, in a passenger transporting facility for transporting a large member of passengers up and down.
CONSTITUTION: When passengers go to an underground space 2 from a ground surface 1, for example, they get in a vacant vehicle 17A from the upper stage of an upper station 7 or from the entrance 11 of a lower platform and, at the same time, getting in and out from the vehicle 17A is also made at the lower station 8 and these vehicles are in standby condition. When elevating frames 15A and 15B holding another vehicle 17B are raised and lowered in an elevating path 6 and seated on a floor, the vehicle 17B is moved to the opposite side to the upper station 7. After the movement is completed, the vehicle 17A in standby condition is moved into the elevating frame 15A through a moving path and, after getting in of the vehicle 17B(17a) to the elevating frames 15A and 15B is completed at the upper and lower ends of the elevating path 6, these frames are raised and lowered to transport the passengers. Thus, a large amount of personnel can be transported efficiently.
