To enable a user to visually and aurally determine his or her motion state in a passive exercise apparatus capable of performing stepping motion or stepping motion and waist twisting motion at the same time.
The passive exercise apparatus includes a unit part 30 equipped with a pair of left and right footboards 33 and 34 in a tiltable manner, a drive part 80 for alternately tilting the footboards, and a control section 40 for controlling the operation of the drive part and has a notification part 92 electrically connected to the control section to notify a user of the operation state of the drive part. The control section detects the operation state of the drive part changing according to the stepping state of the footboards by the user to report the motion state of the user by the notification part.
