Abstract:

To allow even a beginner such as a child or an aged person who is unfamiliar with a personal computer to realize a password input without having being aware of an input and also to make an inputted password not to easily be seen through.

A password input system which authenticates a user is provided with a means which shows bitmap icons that represents various designs, a means that successively designates the bitmap icons, a means which inputs a designated bitmap icon to a prescribed area on a screen, a 1st storing means which stores the designation order of the designated bitmap icon, a 2nd storing means which stores the input order of bitmap icons into a user's prescribed area in each user, and a means which compares information stored in the 1st storing means with information stored in the 2nd storing means, and specifies the user when comparison results performed by the comparing means coincide.
