To efficiently apply paste in a good state wherein the viscosity of the paste is constant and the paste contains no foreign matter or air bubbles without staining the circumference.
When the paste is discharged from a die head to form a coating film on a substrate, a stirring container 11 is set to a stirring and defoaming machine not only to adjust the viscosity of the paste but also to perform stirring and defoaming and, thereafter, the stirring container 11 is transferred to an exclusive truck 14 to be moved to a place provided with a coating pump 16 by the exclusive truck 14. Thereafter, the stirring container 11 is connected to the coating pump 16 in the state placed on the exclusive truck 14 and the paste is directly fed to the die head 17 from the stirring container 11 through piping 18 having a foreign matter removing filter 19 arranged on the way thereof to perform coating. Since there is no work for transferring the paste, coating can be efficiently performed in such a good state that the viscosity of the paste is constant and the paste contains no foreign matter or air bubbles and the circumference is not contaminated by the scattering of the paste.
