To provide a paste form electrode plate for alkaline storage battery in which a mounting part of a three-dimensional porous board for an electricity collecting plate has an enhanced electroconductivity and mechanical strength by installing a plate mounting part through welding of the collecting plate upon compressing so as to have a specific porosity.
An electricity collecting plate is mounted on a three-dimensional porous board 1 made of a foaming metal, felt metal, etc., and having a porosity of 90-98%, and the plate mounting part 1a of the board 1 is pressurized by a roll press machine so that a local porosity of 40-70% is generated. By means of spot welding 3, an electricity collecting plate 2 is installed on the mounting part 1a of the board where the thickness is compressed. The board 1 is filled an active material such as nickel hydroxide in paste form together with an electroconductive material. Mounting of the plate is made before or after the filling of this paste of active material.
