To provide a paste material coating device which certainly washes a nozzle at a low cost and certainly recovers the paste material removed from the nozzle, and a paste material applying method using the same.

An alcohol coating part 10 and an annular cleaning head 11 are provided to a nozzle washing part 1. The alcohol coating part 10 impregnates cloth 4 with ethyl alcohol and a cloth feed part 12 moves the cloth 4 by a definite interval. The cloth 4 is provided under tension so that the part impregnated with ethyl alcohol of the cloth 4 covers the opening part 11a of the cleaning head 11. Then, the cleaning head 11 is raised to locate the nozzle of a paste dispenser coating part 16 in the opening part 11a and the nozzle is brought into contact with the cloth 4. In this state, the circular motion of the nozzle is performed along the inner wall of the opening part 11a. Thereafter, the cleaning head 11 is allowed to lower.
