To provide a patient transfer device used as an auxiliary device for smoothly transferring the patient between two points with a height difference such as between a bed and a wheelchair and to provide a patient transfer device easily transferring the patient to a relatively long-distance transfer destination.
This patient transfer device includes a lower track structure 2 having a slide groove 7 or a rail constituting a track 6, an upper support structure 3 having a lower fitting part 9 fitted in the slide groove 7 or the rail of the lower track structure 2 and moving along the track 6, a patient mount 4 provided on the upper support structure 3, and a support device having a lifting/lowering mechanism 19 supporting the lower track structure 2 and lifting/lowering the lower track structure 2; and the lower track structure 2 is so constituted as to have a sufficient length for transferring the upper support structure 3 along with the patient mount 4 from a first transfer position for loading the patient to a second transfer position for unloading the patient via an intermediate position on the support device 5.
