PURPOSE: To save memories by obtaining the stroke pattern data from selection, position, size, etc. of a pattern of straight lines, curved lines, etc. to generate comparatively simple patterns having radicals, etc. from combinations of said pattern data and then combining these patterns.
CONSTITUTION: A KANJI (Chinese character) 4F43 is fed by an operator, and the Ming-style font, a pattern size (64×64) and the line thickness (4×2) are designated respectively. IN such a case, a KANJI dictionary is referred to in a step S2 to read the code, position and size of radicals (including other patterns) constituting a designated KANJI (speech). It is known from a table that the code 4F43 contains data groups showing two radicals. The data group of a radical code 0024 corresponds to a basic pattern "word" constituting a pattern "speech". In a step 4 a radical dictionary is referred to with each radical code obtained from the KANJI dictionary to obtain the data that decides the strokes constituting each radical.
