To provide a pattern detecting device and a pattern detecting method for suitably detecting an object to be recognized by suppressing the increase of processing costs, even when the size of an object to be recognized in image is different, depending on the image, and when the object to be recognized exists, while tilting.
A three-dimensional feature detection model configured by combining two-dimensional feature detection models, based on features detected by a primary feature detecting part 1001 is stored in a three-dimensional feature detection model storing part 1023. Then, the two-dimensional feature detection model is compared with the configuring part of a pattern, in an image inputted from a signal inputting part 1000, and a featured value corresponding to the configuring part of the two-dimensional feature detection model is calculated by a two-dimensional feature detecting part 1002. Then, the three-dimensional feature detection model, stored in a three-dimensional feature detection model storing part 1023, is compared with the pattern in the image, and the three-dimensional feature detection model of the pattern is set by a three-dimensional feature detecting part 1003.
