To displace the tread of a pedal nearly to the front side of a vehicle when a pedal bracket displaces to the rear side of the vehicle together with a vehicle side member due to the working of specified external force from the front side of the vehicle and moreover, reduce the load input to the side of an inpanel-reinforcement.
The pedal bracket 40 is made of aluminum and die-cast and provided with a peripheral direction rib 86 and a axial direction rib 88, and a crack producing portion 92. When a specified high load is applied to the front section of the vehicle, the rear end side of the pedal bracket 40 is disconnected from a connection bracket 72 and slides on the guide face 84 of a slide guide 84. In this process, the rear end side of the pedal bracket 40 is displaced rotationally, as a result, a crack is produced from the crack producing portion 92. Since the crack extends to the side of the axial direction rib 88, resulting in the rapture of the pedal bracket 40, the load input to the side of the inpanel-reinforcement 26 can be reduced while displacing the pedal pad 58 of a brake pedal 10 to nearly the front side of the vehicle.
