A brake operation is maintained by engaging a pole 17 turned and energized by a torsion spring 19 with a sector 13a turned by the pedaling of a pedal 13 and the brake operation is released by releasing the engagement of a pole 17 and the sector 13a by turning the pole 17 by the turning to the release direction of a release lever 21 which stays on a return position against the turning and energizing force of the torsion spring 19. In this case, the end part 19a of the side in which the pole 17 of the torsion spring 19 is turned and energized is interposed between the pole 17 and the release lever 21 and the end part 19a of the torsion spring 19 is push-moved in an opposite energizing direction by a release lever 21 by the turning to the release direction of the release lever 21.
