The pedestal for flower arrangement consists of the open cellular body essentially consisting of the cellulose acetate having the oxidation degree of 44 to 55. If the oxidation degree of the cellulose acetate is below 44, the degree of softening of the pedestal for flower arrangement is large at the time of water absorption and, therefore, the fixability of plants is insufficient and if the oxidation degree exceeds 55, the water absorption rate decreased and, therefore, the convenience of the pedestal for flower arrangement is lost. The cellulose acetate may be the cellulose acetate having the single oxidation degree of the range described above or may be a mixture of the cellulose acetates having the difference oxidation degrees and may be the mixture having the peak of the distribution within the range described above.
