Abstract:
To provide a pedometer with improved counting accuracy of footsteps by precisely obtaining vertically downward acceleration.
An acceleration detecting means 20 of an arithmetic processing unit 2 detects acceleration from output of a triaxial acceleration sensor 3. A direction detecting means 21 detects a direction of the acceleration sensor. A footstep calculating function of an arithmetic control means carries out footstep calculation on the basis of the detected acceleration of the acceleration detecting means 20 corresponding to a vertical downward direction detected by the direction detecting means 21.
