To provide a separation method of metal and rubber capable of separating a composite of metal and rubber bonded with an adhesive while keeping good quality by using a solvent corresponding to a kind of metal or the like and especially capable of recycling the metal.
The composite of stainless and rubber is immersed into a solution 2 containing dichloromethane (Methachlene (R)) and formic acid so as to be suited for peeling of the composite of stainless and rubber, thereby, the stainless and rubber is peeled and both are separated. Therein, the metal part is made of stainless material, the rubber part is made of chlorinated rubber as synthetic rubber and the composite prepared by bonding both of the parts with a curing adhesive is separated into stainless and chlorinated rubber, wherein the solvent 2 has a weight compounding ratio of the dichloromethane and formic acid in the range of 2:8 to 8:2, preferably has the weight compounding ratio of 5:5, and the temperature of the solvent 2 is controlled in the range of 10C to 38C and the composite is immersed into such a solvent 2.
