To provide a pellet circulation type heat exchanger which can avoid the drop of heat conductivity and the stoppage of function of an apparatus utilizing heat.
This heat exchanger is equipped with a heat exchanger drum 28 which has a gas outflow port 36, a gas inflow port 35, an air outflow port 38, and an air inflow port 37 in order from above to below, a pellet feeding means 30 which feed pellets 29 from the inner bottom of the heat exchanger drum 28 to its inner top, and a bulkhead 32 which is inscribed in the heat exchanger 28 such that it is positioned between the gas inflow port 35 and the air outflow port 38 and besides in which a passage 31 piercing it above and below is made. This is further provided with a dust removing means 50 which can catch minute solid matter between the air outflow port 38 and the heated air inlet part of an apparatus utilizing heat connected to it, and this dust removing means 50 catches the minute solid matter being sent fro the air outflow port 38 together with the air heated within the gas inflow port 35 together with exhaust gas.
