PURPOSE: To prepare penetrating water having pH satisfying the standard of water to drink at a low cost by passing penetrating water, while introducing air into a packing column.
CONSTITUTION: Alkaline materials comprising mainly CaCO3 such as limestone, coral sand, dolomite and the like are applied into an alkaline material packed column 2. Penetrating water Wo of low pH value is adjusted as water to drink having adequate pH. Penetrating water Wo is led from the lower section of the alkaline material packed column 2, and at the same time, air A from a blower 4 is introduced from an air diffuser 3 provided at the end of a line R4. pH of penetrating water Wo is increased while rising with the air in the material packed column to produce a pH adjusted water satisfying the standard, which passes through a line R3 to be utilized as water for drinking. thus, the device can be made more compact.
