Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a penetration tester capable of easily detecting, with a single unit, the development depth of a root system near a ground surface, and the strength, density, and tightness of the ground and, at the same time, detecting a boundary between a strong weathered rock and a weathered rock near a surface layer collapse generating depth or the state of a boundary between a base rock and the weathered rock thereof.
SOLUTION: A knocking head is provided on a soil penetrating rod R having a penetration cone at the lower end thereof at a proper intermediate position. A first weight 1 is slidably loose-fitted to the soil penetrating rod portion on the knocking head, and freely dropped from a specified height on the knocking head to hammer the knocking head so as to penetrate the penetration cone into a ground. By measuring a penetration resistance caused by this penetration, the ground is searched. A second weight 2 is formed integrally with the first weight 1 so as to be separated from each other.
