Abstract:
To provide novel peptide compounds having antibacterial properties, and to provide methods for preparing the compounds.
A method for preparing a compound includes the steps of: (a) treating a peptide having at least one sidechain comprising an amino group with an amino protecting group reagent to form a protected peptide, wherein the peptide comprises a cyclic heptapeptide attached to an exocyclic peptide chain comprising an acyl group, and the protecting group comprises at least one acidic substituent; and (b) treating the protected peptide with a deacylating agent to form a protected, deacylated peptide.
