NEW MATERIAL:A compound expressed by the formula (Pg-CO-represents residue obtained by removing OH group in carboxyl group of prostaglandins; Z represents residue obtained by removing one amino hydrogen atom from an antigenic polyamino acid or protein).
EXAMPLE: A combination of prostaglandin D2 with a horseradish peroxidase.
USE: A reagent for producing an antigen exhibiting specificity for prostaglandins useful for enzyme-immunoassay of prostaglandins.
PREPARATION: Prostaglandins expressed by the formula Pg-COOH are reacted with a polyamino acid or protein expressed by the formula H2N-Z normally in an aqueous medium preferably in the presence of a condensing agent such as N,N'-dicyclohexylcarbodiimide, etc. The reaction is preferably carried out under mild condition.
