PURPOSE: To provide a peptide having a specific amino acid sequence, reactive to the autoantibody of thyroid stimulating hormone receptor supposed to be a cause of autoimmune hyperthyreosis and useful as a diagnostic agent, treating agent, etc., for autoimmune hyperthyreosis.
CONSTITUTION: The objective peptide (salt) composed of 6-25 amino acids and expressed by formula A-B-C (A is H, Glu, Phe-Glu, Phe-Phe-Glu or amino acid sequence of formula I; B is amino acid sequence of formula II; C is OH, Glu, Glu-Ile, Glu-Ile-Ile and amino acid sequence of formula III, formula IV, etc.) is produced by a solid-phase synthesis using an automatic peptide synthesizer by using an insoluble PAM resin as a solid-phase carrier, successively reacting 10 L-amino acids from the C-terminal Ile to the resin according to the amino acid sequence of the peptide to synthesize a protected peptide resin and treating the product with a trifluoroacetic acid solution to separate the peptide from the resin and remove all protecting groups from the peptide.
