Abstract:
A process for fully removing from perfluoropolyethers having a minimum vapour tension, organic polluting substances containing -OH groups and/orbonds, by treating the perfluoropolyether with oxygen, or chlorine or fluorine, at a high temperature and in the presence of ultra- violet radiation, in order to convert the impurities to volatile degradation products easily removable by degassing.
