PURPOSE: To reduce the time required for preparing for printing by mounting paper transfer cylinders transferring paper from a paper feeder to a blanket cylinder on the side of a paper discharge apparatus, providing a paper gripper on the blanket cylinder on the side of the paper discharge apparatus, disposing a delivery cylinder of the paper discharge apparatus below the blanket cylinder on the side of the paper discharge apparatus, and forming an open part downward of the blanket cylinder.

CONSTITUTION: The paper supplied from a paper feeder 10 and positioned by a registering apparatus 40 is fed along the peripheral surfaces of paper transfer cylinders, 57, 58, a blanket cylinder 52, a paper transfer cylinder 59, and a delivery cylinder 21. When passing through between a blanket cylinder 51 and the blanket cylinder 52 formed upward to downward, the paper is subjected to printing. Furthermore, an open part 60 is formed downward of the blanket cylinders 51, 52. For cleaning the blanket, an operator is allowed to enter a space below the blanket cylinders 51, 52 by the open part 60 with inking units 55, 56 in contact with plate cylinders 53, 54 to conduct cleaning. In this manner, the need for moving the inking units 55, 56 is eliminated, which results in the reduction of a printing halt time and the enhancement of a printing operation rate.
