To provide an additive for lubricating fluid containing perfluoropolyether base agent having integration of improved stabilizing properties in the presence of Lewis acid and simplified synthesizing process.

The perfluoropolyether base agent is a compound comprising a (per)fluoropolyether chain and terminal groups having pyridine structure of the structural formula: T1-CW1-O-Rf-CW2-T2 [T1, T2 are each F, CF3, C2F5, (C2F4)Cl; CH2-B-Y, CH(CF3)O-Y(B is O, S; Y is (in the formula R2-R4 are each H, F, 1-8C linear or branched perfluoroalkyl, NO2, CN)), at least one of two terminal groups T1, T2 is CH2-B-Y or CH(CF3)O-Y as defined in the above; W1, W2 are each -F, -CF3, Rf is a (per)fluoropolyoxyalkylene chain having 400-10,00 of number average molecular weight].
