The performance evaluation method includes: a step of obtaining current characteristics by electrochemical measurement while changing gas flow speed of supply gas given to a battery in an assembling state; a step of obtaining an amount of change of the current characteristics based on gas pressure by carrying out electrochemical measurement while changing the gas pressure of the supply gas given to the battery in an assembling state; and a step of obtaining a component caused only by gas flow speed of the supply gas by subtracting the amount of change obtained by the step of obtaining the amount of change from the current characteristics obtained by the step of obtaining the current characteristics.
