To provide a performance teaching device by which a player clearly recognizes not only a performance operator to be operated at present time, but also the performance operator which is to be operated next.
A CPU 10 sequentially reads an event and time from a guide data memory 13 based on a program stored in a program ROM 11. When the read event is a note-on event, a timing display section 2 is turned on which is provided corresponding to a key of a key number included in the event, and a preliminary display section 4 is turned off. Then, a note-on event next to the read note-on event is searched, and the preliminary display section 4 which is provided corresponding to the key of the key number included in the searched note-on event is made display.
