Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a peripheral equipment installation system capable of making even a user without expert knowledge and experience capable of easily installing a peripheral equipment.
SOLUTION: In the storage device 9 of a host computer 7, installation information and machine kind information are stored beforehand. In the case of installing a printer 3 to a personal computer 1, the personal computer 1 transmits the machine kind information to the host computer 7 first. Then, the host computer 7 retrieves the installation information corresponding to the received machine kind information from the storage device 9 and returns it to the personal computer 1. Corresponding to it, the personal computer 1 executes the installation of the printer 3 based on the installation information received from the host computer 7.
