To provide a periphery pump preventing the locking of an impeller by suppressing its swelling amount to alcohol and toluene contained in fuel.
This periphery pump which introduces fuel from a fuel tank and sends it to an internal combustion engine is so formed that the impeller is made of fiber reinforced PPS (polyphenylene sulfide) and consists of a base section fitted to a motor rotor, a vane section provided in the outer circumference of the base section and an outer ring section provided around the outer circumference of the vane section. The vane section is constituted of a plurality of vanes linearly and radially disposed from the base section and has a curved section and, when the impeller is viewed along the direction of a motor shaft of the motor rotor, a ratio of the projection area S1 of the vane section whole body to the projection area S3 of the base section is defined to S3:S1=9-15:1 and the projection area S1 of the vane section whole body to the projection area S2 of the outer ring section is defined to S2:S1=0.10-0.13:1.
