Title:
PERITONEAL DIALYSIS LIQUID
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH1094598
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To enable setting at storage time to maximize efficiency of removing urea and creatinine while deterring the storage time at which the maximum water removing efficiency is obtained as compared with the conventional peritoneal dialysis liquid by using non-reducing oligosaccharides or polysaccharides with the number of residues in sugars within a specified range.

An osmoregulation agent, one or two or more of non-reducing oligosaccharides or polysccharides with the number of residues in sugars within a range of 3-12, preferably 4-8 are contained to prepare a peritoneal dialysis liquid. The non-reducing oligosaccharides and polysaccharides are dissolved in water very easily like the grape sugar but the larger molecular weight thereof can significantly restrict the absorption caused by diffusion through a peritoneum. Hence, a high osmotic pressure can be maintained for a longer time as compared with the grape sugar used as osmoregulation agent. In other words, a higher water removing efficiency is achieved for 6-8 hour of the storage time of the dialysis liquid, the length of time which ensures the maximizing of the urea/creatinine removing efficiency.
