Abstract:
To provide a permanent magnet demagnetizing device for carrying out memory elimination of the magnetic data storage device.
One or more pairs of magnet groups (14 and 16) are equipped with magnetized segments (21-30) arranged in the form of Halbach like array. Magnet groups (14 and 16) demarcate gaps (18) which are passed by a magnetic data storage medium (12) in a direction of traversing (20) the segments (21-30). Magnetization side faces (36) of magnet groups (14 and 16) are facing mutually and thereby, a strong magnetic field which demagnetizes a magnetic data storage medium (12) passing through the gaps (18) is formed.
